Silver composed of a radiating star with seven points surmounted by a second radiating star bearing seven crescents enclosing a star. Gold center with the tughra of the Sultan in its center and a red enamelled legend (small defects) with four cartouches of inscription. Reverse side with two hooks and a rocking clasp (missing). History: Although the Legion of Honor file (very incomplete and probably destroyed in 1870) does not mention the award of the Medjidié, he wears it in his photos in full uniform and is cited as a grand cross of the order in period relations.
