Marked on the back "Alphonse Colle born in Lille, died in Charleville in 1861. Volunteer in 1800, former captain of artillery wounded at Wagram, medal of Saint Helena, officer of the Legion of Honor. Germaine Vérité " Biographies : Alphonse Louis Joseph COLLE (1784-1861) Gunner in 1804 in the 8th regiment of foot artillery, he served during all the campaigns of the Empire until 1811. Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1811, officer in 1850. Germaine VERITE. Referred to the salon of the French artists of 1936. Mrs. Germaine VERITE, born in Charleville (Ardennes), pupil of Mr. A. Colle (probably a relative of our man).
