GENERAL HULIN Strong stamping die, oval in iron, engraved in intaglio with the large arms of General Count Hulin under the hat of Count of the Empire, surrounded by the orders of the Iron Crown (Kingdom of Italy), the Lion of Bavaria (Kingdom of Bavaria) and the Legion of Honor (French Empire). 84 x 63 x Ht 25 mm. B.E. About 1808-1812. The coat of arms of General Count Hulin is as follows: "Sable, a Hercules Or leaning to sinister on his club, his dexter hand on a tower argent quarreled, open and massed of the field; all set on a field vert; on a chief indented gules a foy issuing from the franc of a cloud, all argent; on a quarter count out of the army." History: This die, probably used to stamp harness plates, can be dated after 1808 (when Hulin was ennobled) and before 1813 (when he received the Order of the Reunion)
