PAUL LEON GLAIZE (1842-1931). French School "Gallant encounter of the hussar. Directoire period". Oil on canvas signed lower right. (Small restoration per piece). 58 x 39 cm. Gilded frame. Biography : Pierre Paul Léon GLAIZE (1842-1932), French painter, was first a student of his father Auguste Barthélémy Gaize and then entered the Paris School of Fine Arts in the studio of Jean Léon Jérôme. A member of the jury of the Salon de la Société des artistes français, he won several prizes, including the second prize of Rome in painting in 1866. Our work seems to be a counterpart to another work by the artist called "The Secret".
