In-folio, contemporary red half-basin, smooth spine, title, year and gilt fillets (qq. rubs to the edges, 2 corners dulled, qq. rare tears without missing, 2 n° absent). Collection of 102 consecutive issues of this amusing magazine illustrated with numerous woodcut vignettes by A. Grévin, Pépin, Braner, and Edward Ancourt who signs most of the front page illustrations, these being colored. Bound at the end is #115, 3rd series, of the Petit journal pour rire.

Condition A- two small perforations in the margins and one stain. The poster presents an allegory of a caricaturist dressed as a madman, indiscriminately flogging society.

Original poster, lithograph, not canvas Condition A- freckles, traces of folds. This document is remarkable for several reasons. The comic character is underlined by the words "the cheapest board in the world" and the caricatures of the aviators transformed into birds above Paris, aviators who initiated the conquest of the air. Clearly identified: Wilbur Wright, Orville Wright, Framan, Delagrange, Louis Blériot, Santos-Dumont, Archdeacon, Hart O. Berg, Deutsch (de la Meurthe), Baron de Zuylen de Nyevelt, Kapferer, Gustave Rives, Les Frères Voisin, Quinton, Capitaine Ferber, Marquis de Dion. The smiling faces of these new explorers of a new discipline.
