[1792]. 2 vol. in-8, [2] f., L p., [1] f., 184 p. + [2] f., 232 p., contemporary blond calf, smooth spine, 2 genat title-pieces, gilt fillets, double gilt fillet bordering the boards, cold roulette at the edges, speckled edges (minor rubbing, very moderate russetting). Work composed by Baron d'Holbach, accompanied by notes by Naigeon, and which first appeared in 1770. New edition presented by the publisher Desray to the National Convention, and preceded by a preliminary speech written by the citizen Daube, which was published separately under the title " De l'influence de l'imprimerie sur la Révolution ". The work is presented there as an instrument favorable to the propagation of the revolutionary ideas: "[...] Dumarsais, the catechism of the good sense, will replace soon these unintelligible catechisms that the priests had invented to choke the reason of the youth [...] ".
