At the time, wearing wristwatches was a rare occurrence, popularized by military use. However, this Tank Cintrée was quickly adopted by the world's greats, actors and other male figures, until later appearing on the wrist of Steve McQueen during the filming of Thomas Crown Affair. The magnificent watch we are offering for sale dates from the 1970s and has been professionally restored by Cartier over a period of 9 months with an exceptional restoration of the dial, a complete service of the movement, a check and adjustment of the bracelet and clasp, a polishing and flame bluing of the hands and other small interventions.
