CHINA, 18th century, Qianlong period. Important textile in silk (kesi) and gold thread. Richly embroidered with a central medallion design of scrolls and flowers, the border with a frieze of stylized dragons qilongs. 125 x 85 cm (some wear, slight tears, missing, stains). References: "Cushion Cover for an Imperial Dais (kang) with Design of Floral Scrolls and the Eight Auspicious Symbols of Buddhism", Saint Louis Art Museum, ref. 158:1916.
