Les Patcheuses d'Eckbolsheim

Les Patcheuses d'Eckbolsheim "Floraison étoilée" Patchwork collaboratif Dimensions approximatives : 170 cm x 170 cm Twenty two patchworkers from the Eckbolsheim club and 20 from the Boston club have come together to create this "Starry Bloom" quilt for you. The flowers were made with the technique of hand appliqué, for some embroidered by hand by the Alsatian needleworkers while the American correspondents used machine techniques and sent the stars that frame the quilt. The patchworkers from Alsace were very meticulous as they assembled these 49 blocks in a job requiring precision and dexterity. This project was born in the fall, and the long winter evenings made it possible to carry it out. To start with, all the blocks were made in duplicate, in Alsace and in the USA, and the Boston patchworkers will also assemble a quilt with the same componants. Assembled by hand and machine, a long-term job, several hundred hours for our little Alsatian hands, in group meetings on Thursdays, but also in each home. Technical characteristics : Quilted stitch by stitch by hand by the Alsatian sewers during their weekly meetings. Unique piece, born of an exchange project on both sides of the Atlantic. Approximate dimensions: 170cm x 170cm On a bed, a sofa or a wall, it will seduce by the harmony of the pattern and by the symbolic dimension of this exchange!
