Beautiful Ottoman Kilij offered according to the family tradition by Sultan Abdulhamid the Red at the beginning of the 20th century to a French Marine Officer as a reward for his help in extinguishing a huge fire in Istanbul. Beautiful curved and flat blade with important ricasso decoration in gold inlay, flat back in two thirds giving to the blade a "T" section, widened counter-edge in the last third with reinforced back of an overthickness, handle in solid cast silver, pommel in crook, symmetrical branch of guard with quillon with tassel ending, symmetrical central mounts decorated with a rose in relief, the handle itself decorated with foliage in relief, in its scabbard with wooden core and decoration in suite chape with housing of mounts in relief, two rings, one on the chape and one on an independent bracelet, long bolt, scabbard dressed in red velvet eliminated and unstained.
