Description

Rare chest of drawers with doors or sideboard in solid mahogany and mahogany veneer opening by two leaves, the interior discovering two sliding mechanical trays. The belt slightly moved. Feet in triangles clearly curved ended by a simple bronze shoe. Peach blossom marble top. Louis XVI period, stamped J. Canabas and JME. Joseph Gengenbach, known as Canabas, received his master's degree on April 1, 1766. H. : 93 cm - W. : 118 cm - D. : 57 cm (restorations of use, cracks and restoration to the marble) Provenance : Probably Galerie Georges Hagnauer in the 70s. Above the chest of drawers with two doors, with a different marble, from the former Hagnauer Collection published in the article "Des meubles fonctionnels" by Christian Herail, Connaissance des arts published in April 1958.
