Collection of instructions (information and directives) given by : Milne-Edwards (natural history, zoology), Loewy (astronomy), Mouchez (astronomy), Daubrée and Cloizeaux (geology), Fouqué (geology), Blanchard (zoology), Duchartre (botany), Angot (globe physics), Muntz and Aubin (chemistry). Precious copy having belonged to lieutenant Jules Martial Stanislas Lephay (1853-1906), member of the Cape Horn expedition and editor of the second volume of the expedition, dedicated to meteorology. With his handwritten bookplate on the first counterfoil: "J. Lephay lieutenant of vessel to the scientific mission (on land) of Cape Horn. July 1882". Stains and discoloration on the boards.
