CROISIÈRE NOIRE. — SPECHT (Georges).

BLACK CRUISE. - SPECHT (Georges). The convoy of the black cruise in Moussouril, on the edge of the Indian Ocean. 1924-1925. Silver print pasted on original grey cardboard. 29,5 x21 cm, under frame (44 x 34,5 cm). The two autochenilles of Haardt's group made up of Penaud, Billy, Balourdet, Iacovleff and Specht, after the separation of the team in April, arrived in Mossouril, a Portuguese colony on the Indian Ocean, on June 14, 1925. Last stage of the most perilous itinerary of the 4 teams, they were about to embark on the liner Maréchal-Galliéni, diverted at the request of André Citroën, for Madagascar. Georges Specht (1883-1971) was the photographer of the Black Cruise expedition and assisted Léon Poirier for the shooting of the film. Some fading. Passe-partout warped.
