Although Victor Vasarely, who arrived in Paris in 1930, first became involved in geometric abstraction in 1948, he quickly explored another path. With his clean and precise line, delimiting planes and zones of color treated in flat tints, the artist brilliantly plays with inversions of tones, crossings and superimpositions. By taking into account the gaze and the senses to elaborate a work of art, as a patented adept of distortions and illusions, Vasarely gave birth to optical art.
