The R 1100 GS, now with a displacement of 1,085 cm3, was the very first to feature a four-valve engine and, above all, opted for air/oil cooling, thus putting an end to the boxer air-head system that BMW had been using since the 1920s. As for the chassis, the R 1100 GS adopts an all-new two-piece frame attached to the engine, and above all a new front suspension. While the Paralever is retained at the rear, the telescopic fork is abandoned in favor of the Telelever system, based on an articulated arm and a central shock absorber that separate steering and damping functions. The model presented is completely original, including paintwork. There are 2 saddlebags and a top box.
