Habsburg Percussion Pistol for Cavalry, M1854 Single shot percussion pistol produced at one of the Austrians arsenals. Smoot walnut half-stock with iron barrel in Cal. 14 mm and iron barrel band. Flat Iron lockplate, stamped with a double-headed eagle and numbered 864. Vaulted iron cock, thumb plate, trigger guard, smooth grip-cap and iron sight. Length: 41 cm. [II+] NOTE It should be noted that no space was created for the loading ramrods in these guns, as was common in other European flintlock and percussion pistols. The ramrods for these pistols were worn on a neck lanyard, which is missing here. Nevertheless, this 1854 Habsburgs Lorenz pistol is a unique and excellent collectible item.
