Antoine-Jean-Galiot MANDAT (1731-1792) officer, he succeeded Lafayette as general commander of the National Guard of Paris and was assassinated a few hours before the attack on the Tuileries on August 10. P.S. as commander of the National Guard of Paris, signed also by Charles-Joseph Viguier-Curny, general commissioner of the National Guard, and with the signature of the Mayor of Paris Petion, Paris June 30, 1792; 1 page in-fol. partly printed, header and red wax seal of the Parisian National Guard, vignette with the coat of arms of Paris and engraved frame with the emblems of the National Guard. Absolute leave for Jean CHAPUIS, adjutant of the 4th company of the corps in which he served 25 years, 2 months and 14 days "with honor and fidelity", and in addition, "three years one month and five days in Dauphin Dragons in which he made two campaigns"; he must under the terms of the law of October 9, 1791, "enjoy in addition to his service for the military reward of two years and four months of service for the revolution"...
