KING'S HUNT - PHELYPEAUX, Count of MAUREPAS (Jean-Frédéric) 1701 - 1781, Minister - Letter signed VERSAILLES August 22, 1726, to Mr. BONTEMPS. 1p 1/2 in-folio: "The King ordered me to write to you, Sir, that the liberty given to him during his minority, and since a few years, to hunt in his pleasures without permission, or the facility that one had to grant it, have so depopulated the plains and the varennes, that he desires that for two years you not grant any permission to hunt within the limits of your Captaincy, His Majesty even requires that the Officers of the Hunts, by not hunting during this time, give the necessary example for the execution of his orders...
