SAINT-PIERRE (Jacques-Henri Bernardin De). The Indian cottage. Paris, Méquignon Marvis, 1822. In-18, mahogany morocco, boards decorated with a cold fleuron in the center and framed with gilt filets and cold garlands, spine with decorated nerves, gilt edges (Thouvenin). Charming little Indian tale intended to increase the relation of a trip to Ile-de-France (today Mauritius) published in 1773, and which contains according to the author "more truths than many stories". Scarce foxing. A fine copy finely bound by Joseph Thouvenin (1790-1834). (Vicaire VII, 80). Provenances : Label of the Palais Royal, copy of the Dolibon bookshop, Nemours gallery - Handwritten signature of Henri Coppin.
