ORIGINAL EDITION translated from English and illustrated with 12 portraits engraved by Adam and a folding map of ancient Greece. These letters were composed in 1739 and 1740 by a group of friends who were finishing their studies at Cambridge University. Bindings a little rubbed, rare foxing. A pleasant copy in beautiful bindings by Courteval, bookbinder from 1796 to 1836 (Barbier II, 1225).
