In-8, fawn basane, spine decorated, red edges (period binding). Important travelogue with very curious details on the interior geography of America and on the customs of the nations that inhabit it. Illustrated with a beautiful folding map with the indication of the Indian tribes, the work is divided into 4 parts; the first one contains the journal of this trip, the second one, the origins, the customs, the language, the writing of the Indians, with a French-Chippeway and French-Nadoessis dictionary; the third one treats of the fauna and the flora and the last one contains some supplements by the author and the translator Jean Etienne de Montucla. Some foxing else a good copy (Chadenat, 540).
