Illustrated with a beautiful folding map with the indication of the Indian tribes, the work is divided into 4 parts; the first one contains the journal of this trip, the second one, the origins, the customs, the language, the writing of the Indians, with a French-Chippeway and French-Nadoessis dictionary; the third one treats of the fauna and the flora and the last one contains some supplements by the author and the translator Jean Etienne de Montucla.
