[PÉRIGORD - DOUZE (land & marquisate of la)/ARCHIVES]. A set of documents from the 16th, 17th, 18th & 19th centuries concerning a lawsuit related to the ownership of the Douze land located southeast of Périgueux, then in the Dordogne department (1528-1811). Reunion of seven bundles of archives, manuscript and printed, coming from the families of Abzac de La Douze, David de Lastours & d'Abzac deMontancé and representing a total of approximately 60 linear cm. Among these documents, which relate to one of the longest known lawsuits (having lasted from 1698 to 1811), are numerous rulings of the Parliament, a ruling of the Court of Cassation of August 6, 1811, as well as the following documents (or copies of documents) - wills, including that of January 30, 1528 instituting a perpetual substitution on the land of La Douze, - memoranda and requests, - cadastres, - civil status documents, - genealogical tables or documents, - correspondence, - marriage contracts, including that signed between Pierre d'Abzac de La Douze & Jeanne de Bourdeille, August 18, 1526, and that signed between Gabriel d'Abzac de La Douze & Jeanne de Lastours, March 11, 1591, - etc. Cf.
