Description
Pair of flintlock hunting pistols signed "JOH JAC KUCHENREUTER". 25 cm round barrels with guiding bands of shooting, burnished, gilded, calibre 12 mm, carrying front sight and double hausses with mobile leaves. Barrels decorated with silver and gold scrolls bearing the engraved signature on the shooting guide band, harquebusier's hallmarks and the numbers "I" & "2", gilded, on the thunders, respectively on each barrel. Flat-bodied locks, very finely decorated in bas-relief with hunting scenes and arabesques, engraved swan-neck hammers and screws, sideways basins. Cut silver trimmings, thumb piece in the form of a coat of arms. Long barrel mounts, carved with leafy scrolls with silver reinforcements at the ends, screwed under the barrel. Very slight lack to the wood of stick on the number "2", lacks the rods. Very well made. Bavaria. Total length about 38,5 cm. Middle 18th century.
