Flintlock rifle of officer or cadet type 1767. Round barrel, gauge of approximately 15 mm, flat body lock, engraved of palms and arabesques, marked "M........", hammer of swan neck, basin with sides. Iron trimmings underlined of nets, grenadière, nasturtium and plain mouthpieces. Long barrel frame, beveled stock (this rifle was found at the Palace of Versailles near the Swiss water room where it was concealed with five other similar rifles between structural elements). Total length about 130 cm. Surface oxidation, missing wood. ME. Sold as is. Former Christian Ariès collection.
