Description

Cavalry flintlock musket of the pre-1733 type. Barrel with sides with the thunder then round, equipped with a front sight, gauge approximately 16 mm, carrying the inscription "N°124", tenon of bayonet under the barrel. Flat body lock marked (game). Gooseneck hilt, basin with sides. Brass fittings with molded rod loops, trigger guard type 1733 with light frieze decoration as well as the lock plate (missing a screw). Long barrel frame with number "109", walnut stock "pied de vache", buttplate return engraved with fillets and scrolls, molding around the fittings and on the back of the buttplate (missing and damaged wood). Later wood stick. Presented with a short bayonet socket engraved "EAN.D OBERT" (30 cm). Total length approximately 131 cm. Surface oxidation. EM. Former collection of Christian Ariès (this musket dated before 1734 by Jean Boudriot was used as a model - notebook n°10 - 1963)
