Description
Rare flintlock infantry rifle model 1728. Barrel with sides with the thunder then round, gauge approximately 18 mm, punches of Saint Etienne, "JL" under crown, trace of a number. Flat-body lock marked "P. GIRARD", stamped "S. E." topped by a crown. Swan neck hilt, square basin with sides. Iron fittings, grenadière with left side ring, nasturtium with mouthpiece (missing the pivot spring of the mouthpiece). Mounting with long barrel (crack and notch at the back of the lock), trigger guard not of origin, stick in drowning known as "foot of cow" (notch in end of stick), carries the markings of reception of Saint-Etienne. Presented with a bayonet with casing. Total length approximately 159 cm. Surface oxidation. ABE (missing and cracked wood).
