RENETTE'S CASEKET in PARIS. Pair of percussion dueling pistols, burr walnut mounts, case-hardened steel fittings, octagonal Damascus barrels slightly blunderbussed with fine "hair" stripes signed in gold letters "RENETTE à PARIS" and numbered 1 & 2 in front of the front sight, front locks signed in the same way in a gilded oval, fingering bridges, squared grips with smooth oval cap. They are presented in a mahogany veneer case lined with empire green cloth complete with its iron and rosewood accessories and with its key: bullet mold, screwdriver, mallet, tamping rod, brass tamping rod, powder flask (spring missing), primer box and bullet box. Box in its state of discovery. Circa 1820-1830. ABE (some missing veneer on the case, missing lock shield, partial oxidation on the fittings, small missing mounts and lining cloth on the case) RENETTE Albert-Henri-Marie harquebusier and gunner in 1793 in Paris, Veteran of the Empire wars in 1812, we find him near the traffic circle of the Champs-Elysées already collaborating with Louis Gastinne with whom he became associated around 1835, he is the specialist of the duelling pistols in vogue then, he will become under Napoleon III the harquebusier supplier of the Emperor and the most famous house of Paris.
