Cartel violoné and its console with flowers on a red background painted with Martin varnish. Ornamentation of gilded bronzes with foliage and birds. Enamel dial. Wire suspension. Movement signed Jacques Coignet in Paris. The case stamped A. Gosselin. Louis XV period. (Small cracks, formerly with repetition, missing balance). Jacques Cogniet (or Coignet or Cognet, 1661 - after 1726), was received as a watchmaker as "son of master" on January 28, 1676. He worked on rue de la Monnoye and became a juror of the corporation in 1691-92. This movement was probably re-used in a later case. Antoine Gosselin, received Master in 17582.
