FRAUD - Extract of the Registers of the Council of State. held in Versailles on November 18, 1673: "...Having heard the report of the Sieur COLBERT Controller General of Finances: His Majesty orders that the general Regulations of the Manufactures of August 1669, for the lengths, widths, dyeings, marks of the Cloths,... will be carried out according to their form and content, consequently that the Mayors, Aldermen, Jurats, Consuls, Capitouls, other Judges to whom the knowledge of it is allotted, in first instance, will judge in conformity with these, at the risk of answering in their own and private names of the fines confiscations which they would have had to pronounce, prohibition. - Followed by the Ordinance signed of the Autograph of BOUCHU, Councillor of the King, Intendant in BOURGOGNE BRESSE.
