Johann Müller (1798-1863) was a second generation piano maker in Berlin. The present restored instrument was built around 1830. The damper lift is controlled by a knee lever. Inside there is a fabric covered frame which serves as a dust floor. Further, the instrument has two brass candlesticks.
The side-voiced table piano has an English push-tongue action, as well as a single-note damping system. The damping is not divided. The keyboard with the unusual range EE-g4 has a measure of 47,2cm. The instrument is equipped with leather hammers and has a one-piece bridge.
