SMALL UPRIGHT PIANO BY JOHANNES KILIANUS MERCKEN, PARIS 1797 The table piano by Johannes Kilianus Mercken (1743-1816) was made in Paris in 1797. The instrument is made of mahogany and was decorated with ribbon inlays in the Anglo-French style. The French damping is operated by a knee lever. The table piano has a single-action action, as well as a French single-note damping. The damping is not divided. The keyboard (GG-f3) has a measure of 47,9cm. The hammers are leathered. Dimensions of the instrument: Length: 1075mm Width: 439mm Total height: 754mm Body height: 348mm The instrument was restored by Georg Ott and is in playable condition.
