MONTEGRAPPA FOUNTAIN PEN "CITTA D'ARTE VENEZIA", 2009. Barrel in red resin and silver. Limited edition. Exemplary 0114/1000. Bicolour gold nib 18kts. M point. Screw cap. Piston loading. No box. Measures: 14,5 cm. length, 20 mm. diameter. The Montegrappa Citta D 'Arte Venezia fountain pen pays homage to the culture and tradition of Italy; primarily the world-renowned city of Venice. This sterling silver fountain pen was created using the ancient technique of die casting as well as a wax casting technique that is then finished by hand. The hallmark of this pen is its intricate design of St. Mark's Basilica on the barrel of the writing instrument. Various details of the building's distinctive architecture can be seen, including the four horses above the main entrance and the rose windows on its façade. A rosette decorates the 18-karat white-gold nib with yellow-gold trim. The cap cap is decorated with a lion, inspired by one of the centuries-old symbols of Saint Mark's. Finally, the lacquered cap and barrel tip are in Venetian red to represent the illustrious history of one of the world's most cherished cities.
