Suite of four armchairs in white relacquered beech wood and carved with friezes of hearts, the back with the queen, the armrests with cuff, the dices of connection decorated with rosettes on tapered, fluted, filleted and ringed feet. Stamped by Henri JACOB, received Master in 1779. Louis XVI period. Height 96,5 - Width : 64 cm - Depth : 56 cm Note : First cousin of the famous Georges Jacob, Henri Jacob was installed in the rue de Bourbon-Villeneuve before moving to the rue de l'Echiquier in 1799. His production of a quality Louis XVI style with delicate sculpture allowed him to deliver the crown. Provenance: According to family tradition, these armchairs come from Louise Élisabeth de Croÿ d'Havré, marquise and later duchess of Tourzel, born on June 11, 1749 in Paris where she 1749 in Paris where she died on May 15, 1832. She was the last governess of the children of Louis XVI in succession of the duchess of Polignac left in emigration in August 1789.
