Military camp, circa 1750 Very large folded fan, the double sheet of paper engraved and enhanced with gouache of three cartels, on a background of serpentine lines sown with oak acorns. In the center, a canteen girl boils a pot near a family and a soldier, while a couple banters. At left, a soldier carrying his pack and rifle on his shoulder walks along holding a child by the hand. To the right, a child plays at being a little soldier while beating a drum with a fancy helmet on his head. Reverse: gallant scene in a garden, in the taste of China.
