Description
Antique sacrifice clock in patinated bronze, gilded bronze and white marble, decorated with draped women and child blowing a trumpet of fame, the dial with Roman numerals in a frame of ram heads and sphinxes, resting on a base with a frieze of griffins, trophies and head of Medusa. The dial signed by Collin, Palais Royal n° 166. End of the 18th century. Height : 40 cm 40 cm ; Width : 50 cm ; Depth : 19 cm A similar clock listed by Pierre Kjellberg (Encyclopédie de la pendule française, Paris, 1997, p. 336) is signed by the bronzer Pierre-Philippe Thomire.
