In-4 oblong, purple half-chagrin with corners, gilt title on first board, smooth spine decorated (J. Rowbotham). Complete suite of 18 intaglio engravings by Jacques Callot. Proofs of the second state in a later edition, cut with a plate and mounted on watermarked laid paper. Engraved armorial bookplate by George Edmonstone McLeod. Paper of the prints slightly and uniformly browned, small wetness on plate #12, small defect on plate #17. Freckles on the leaves which are detached from the volume. Rubbing to the binding.

Corrozet mark on last leaf. Old restored binding with defects, wear and stains, repaired angular loss to title and several leaves, renewed endpapers.
