First edition of this work which is one of the best sources for the history of Brittany. Illustrated with a portrait of Louis-Alexandre de Bourbon, count of Toulouse and admiral of France, engraved on copper by Pitau after Gobert, 21 plates of portraits and recumbents, and 22 others representing 285 seals. Copy with the arms of the States of Brittany. Armorial bookplate of François Blouet de Camilly, bishop count of Toul (18th century). Volume I is incomplete with 8 plates (13 of 21) and 5 leaves of text (pp. 83-84, pp. 787-792 and pp. 823-824). Mottling and a few foxed quires. Binding restored at the head, corners and spine.
