Les Dix livres d'architecture. Paris, Jean-Baptiste Coignard, 1673 In-folio, granite calf, spine decorated, red speckled edges (Binding of the time). Fowler, n°418. - Cicognara, n°727. First edition of the French translation by Claude Perrault (1613-1688), the brother of the famous storyteller. It is decorated with an allegorical frontispiece by Sébastien Le Clerc and 65 plates engraved in the text. Handwritten bookplate of the 18th century at the bottom of the title: J'appartient à Rousselet Architecte. From the library of the economist Alfred de Foville (1842-1913), with his curious engraved bookplate representing a Pierrot. Freckles, small wetness in the margin of some leaves. Restorations to the binding (hinges, top and bottom of the spine with rebound boxes, corners).
