In-12, stiff vellum, traces of binding, red speckled edges (Binding of the time). First Latin edition, published the same year as the original in Italian, of these two letters addressed by the author who was a missionary in China between 1610 and 1615. Both offer details on the political state of the Chinese empire and the progress of the Jesuit missions in that country. Unspecified wet stamp at the bottom of the title. Small tear repaired at the upper corner of ff. F7-8, with deletion of a pagination number and small shift of letters. Missing the folding plate showing a Peking villa converted into a church. Small worm gallery on the upper flyleaf and the title.
