One of the many reprints of this work first published in 1556 in which the author, a Breton storyteller and compiler, offers a singular reflection on the art of governing during the Renaissance. Manuscript bookplate dated 1576 on a flyleaf and on the title, the signature of the owner partly scratched on the latter and causing a small paper perforation. Staining and foxing to the Z and Aa quires. Paper cut in the lower margin of the title page, not serious.
