Dispatches by carrier pigeons during the siege of Paris. Memorandum on the photographic and administrative section of the service of these dispatches. Tours, Imprimerie Alfred Mame et fils, 1871. In-12 of [4], 24, [4] pp. 2 plates each comprising a microphotographic reproduction laminated, identical specimen of one of the films of dispatches carried to Paris by carrier pigeons photographed by Dagron, the only government photographer for all official and private dispatches on film (flying cardboard 10.5 x 6.5 cm with the film under the window, placed in a passepartout cut-out plate; the film is worn with missing parts) Burgundy chagrin, smooth spine, gilt title on front cover and spine, gilt tr. Very rare first edition of this work printed in Tours, during the exile of the Provisional Government, printed in a very small number of copies destined ""to the Archives, to the Bibliothèque Nationale, and to some similar establishments"". The author, inspector of the telegraph lines of Indre-et-Loire, intended them in fact to the future historians of this period.
