STATUETTE OF THOT BABOON Siliceous earthenware with blue glaze. Missing the upper part of the body; Chipping to the earthenware on the back. Restorations to the glaze. H.8,0 cm Egypt, New Kingdom, 19th dynasty, ca. 1300 B.C. Provenance Former private collection C.R., Brussels, Belgium Cahn International Gallery 2012 Statuette representing the god Thoth in the form of a baboon, seated on a base, his front legs resting on his knees, his sex visible. On his chest, he wears a pectoral with the udjat eye in its center. An Egyptian New-Kingdom blue faience glazed fragmentary seated baboon. Dynasty 19th, ca. 1300 B.C.
