Louis Majorelle (Toulouse, 1859-1926, Nancy) Carved walnut dining room, c. 1890-1900, enriched with walnut veneer and marquetry, comprising a two-body sideboard, a pedimented sideboard, a table and twelve chairs. The upper part of the sideboard, set back from the lower part, has a central box supported by two console arms carved with a chicory leaf motif. It opens with two beveled glass doors. The sides have three drawers and two side shelves of movement. The lower part opens with two leaves enriched with a central medallion in walnut veneer. The uprights are enriched with a chicory leaf sculpture. The bronze handles follow a sinuous pattern with leaves. Four keys. The pedimented sideboard, forming a console, opens with two leaves and a drawer in the belt. The two door panels are enriched with a central medallion in walnut veneer. The top is made of red marble breccia. The table rests on four splayed legs, openwork and decorated with chicory leaves. The twelve chairs have curved and openwork backs. Art Nouveau period.
