A fascinating copy of a 16th century edition of Galen unusually interleaved by leaves with dense contemporary annotations, dated 1551 on endpaper, and in a contemporary binding. Probably the work of a medical student of the time, the orderly annotations, in latin, are placed in the margins of the text that they analyze, and then continue, with numerical references of paragraphs inserted alongside the text, in the blank leaves. 16mo (122 x 79mm). Printer's device on title, woodcut initials and headpieces (without final blank, light browning and foxing, some tiny wormholes and traces of dampstaining). Contemporary calf decorated in gilt on covers and spine, with gilt title (some staining and minor wear, spine ends damaged and some other chips). Probabilmente opera di uno studente di medicina dell'epoca, le ordinate postille in latino sono poste ai margini della porzione di testo che commentano e continuano poi, con riferimenti numerici ai paragrafi inseriti a fianco al testo, nei fogli bianchi. 16mo (122 x 79mm). Marca tipografica al frontespizio, iniziali e fregi xilografici (senza ultima bianca, lievi bruniture e fioriture, qualche minuscolo tarlo e tracce di umidità). Pelle coeva decorata in oro ai piatti e al dorso, con titolo in oro (qualche macchia e difetto, dorso rovinato alle cuffie e con piccole perdite).
