Rare et belle Jobbana de Fès

Deep bowl and lid with round handle called "tuma", in ceramic glazed with a white slip and a polychrome decoration enhanced with touches of minium.

The word "jobbana" comes from the Arabic word "jben" which means cheese. Initially, this pot with a lid was used in Morocco to curdle milk, but it was also used to preserve butter or to serve harira, a soup with which the fast was broken on Ramadan evenings.
