Pitcher decorated with boats Pitcher in siliceous ceramics, the globular body, the cylindrical neck slightly widened. Polychrome painted decoration on white slip under transparent lead glaze representing boats, tartans with black hulls and inflated sails with white and blue stripes, surrounded by red foam ridges. Festoon on the shoulder and red dot frieze on the neck. Mark in red under the base and exhibition label "Exhibited Art Treasure Exhibition 1967. Dealers Association of America Antique National and Art" Ottoman Turkey, Iznik Second half of the 16th century, circa 1580 H. 25 cm (Cracks and old restorations, handle redone) Two pitchers with similar decoration are preserved in the Louvre Museum, Paris and the Louvre Museum, Abu Dhabi.
