One of the open books displays the text of the Dies Irae, a medieval Latin hymn describing the Day of Judgment. Inscription under the skull: "Remember that you are only dust, and that you will return to dust". 31,5 x 42,5 cm. Condition B (a restored tear in the lower margin slightly reaching the tablet, some light marginal foxing).
