PORTRAIT of Philippe WOUWERMAN (painter, 1619-1668) - "Philippus Wouwerman pictor Batavus". Etching and burin engraved by Nicolas Gabriel Dupuis (1698-1771), after a drawing by Cornelis de VISCHER (c.1619-1662). Reference: I.F.F XVIIIth, n°15. Proof on watermarked laid paper (letters), covered on the reverse with the collection marks of L.A. de Vries (Lugt not described) & of the Society of Art Lovers, PICTURA, in Groningen (Lugt 2028). 40.3 x 26.9 cm. Condition A (cut inside the copperplate mark but not beyond the square line, small lack on the right edge, a short tear at the foot).
