Petitjean & Wickert : "Michel LE TELLIER, lord of Chaville, Louvois and La Ferté-Gaucher, born in 1603, was a counselor at the Grand Council in 1624, King's prosecutor at the Châtelet in 1631, master of the petitions in 1638, intendant of justice at the army of Piedmont in 1640, secretary of state for war in 1643n grand^-treasurer of the King's orders in 1652, minister of state in 1661, chancellor of France in 1677. He died in 1685. He was the father of the Marquis de Louvois and Charles-Maurice Le Tellier, archbishop of Rheims." 35.5 x 27.3 cm. Condition B (some printing creases, otherwise good condition).
