Exhibition: - Júlio Pomar at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon in 1978 (then itinerant). Work exhibited and listed in the exhibition catalog under number 113. Provenance: acquired directly from the artist by the parents of the present owner. Júlio Pomar, committed against the dictatorship of Salazar, travels before settling in Paris. Affiliated with the movement of Portuguese post-surrealism, he produced an art of socio-political protest, which is expressed in painting but also in sculpture through assembly. He opts for symbolic subjects, often showing an introspective reflection on the world around him.
